JAZZ BAND - 2003, DOUBLE GOLD, 1st RANKED IN SCARBOROUGH
Our Jazz Band has for years been known as one of the top groups in its class. Consistently scoring well in National and Regional competition, Woburn's jazz students combine the conventional study of music with an intensive, performance-based program allowing them to explore different styles of the medium. As the band is competition-oriented, many competitions are entered each year- this year, Musicfest (GTA, Southern Ont., National); Kiwanis; and the Essentially Ellington competition will be entered.
SMALL ENSEMBLES
On many occasions, our musicians are asked to participate in school, Board, or community functions or productions. A jazz combo from the program has performed at several invited engagements, featuring music arranged by the students themselves.
