About the Wind Ensemble
The Wind Ensemble is comprised of over 70 students from grade 10 to 12 with one common goal: to make music. This ensemble performs at select events, including the annual Commencement exercises, at two yearly concerts, and also attends festivals and competitions. In 2006, the WE received a Gold standing in the highest class at the Ontario Band Association Festival. The ensemble also received the Long and McQuade Director Award, awarded to Mrs. Houghton, and the Long and McQuade Student Award, awarded to Louis Varahidis.

Membership
All students taking a Grade 10, Grade 11, or Grade 12 course in Instrumental Music and/or Jazz Band are members of the Ensemble. Membership is also open to selected students who have completed a Grade 10 Instrumental Music course. The Ensemble rehearses on Monday nights.

Interested in joining?
Prospective members who are not current music students should consult the conductor. Grade 8 and 9 students are encouraged to pursue instrumental music courses at the relevant level.
