About the Jazz Band
The members of the Band focus on
jazz improvisation and jazz band techniques through performances
and festivals. Several
former members are rising stars in the jazz world. In addition, the Jazz Band
often provides musical accompaniment for Woburn's assemblies, as well as
outreach efforts in the community.
Membership
Auditions to enter the Jazz course
for students who play saxophone, trumpet, trombone, guitar, keyboard, bass,
and percussion are held in September.
Interested in Starting?
Most members are in grades 11 and 12, although exceptional grade 9 and 10 students have made it in to the ensemble. Please see the conductor for details.
In some years a Jazz Combo is organized;
these ensembles have performed at local events. |
