Staying in a music course important: president
February 19, 2007 11:21 PM
Council President Eva Chan recently sent an email to all music students suggesting that "without your continual participation, the music program would not be what it is today."
Another recent message posted on this website read as follows: We belong, you and I, to another family of sorts. We, too, work and play together. We agonize over technique, celebrate victories in competition, and teach each other how to knot a tie. We also learn together how hard it is to lose a friend, to console someone else when life is getting them down, and how wonderful it feels if we can help. In all of these ways Woburn Music has become a second family for many.
But this second family is not something into which we are born. We have all chosen to join Woburn Music, to participate in its life as much or as little as we like. We are united by a common purpose, and I have mentioned before that it is not naive to suggest that music has helped to bind together people as diverse as we are. As we live and learn together, realizing what we are capable of, let us not forget that such a common purpose, no matter how it may seem outwardly, cannot fail to do a great deal of good for our world.Woburn Music has always been known for its many dedicated, enthusiastic students. Many graduates participate in our courses and ensembles for their entire time at Woburn. We rely on them for their support and leadership. We hope we can rely on you, too.
A high number of students registered in a music course will strengthen our core membership.
If you're still finalizing your options for next year, seriously consider taking a music course. If you've already decided, please ask your friends to choose music.
CHOOSE MUSIC. Keep the tradition alive.
