When I first arrived at this beautiful camp, I was quite intimidated. I did not know anyone, or where anything was. The first time I met the guys in my cabin, I noticed that they were a great and funny group of guys. Despite this intimidation, everyone knew how to put a friendly and helpful smile on to make the experience all the more enjoyable.
There are hundreds of things I could say about this leadership course, but only a select few would understand those things. It is quite difficult to comprehend if you have never attended, but nevertheless, the amazing teacher facilitators told us how to take OELC back home to teach other people.
Personally this course was a life changing experience, and when the week was over, most people would have been happy with another week. I learned so many new things, and this course helped me to find myself. I feel that I can do just about anything with confidence and passion, and know that if I do not succeed, it will only make me want to try harder the next time.
It seems like a pretty far-fetched thing to hear when you hear one of the teacher facilitators say, “All of you have the power to change the world”. I did not believe that when I first heard it, but now that OELC is over, and everything has been done; I truly believe it.
