On Friday September 28, 2007, the Music Council went on a fun and rewarding retreat. We started everything out by digging into a beautifully prepared breakfast laid out for us (it was as delicious as it was beautiful). After that filing breakfast we went outside to officially start the day which was full of trust games.

Our first game was a line you had to run through; as you went through the people in the lines on either side moved their hands up so you wouldn't get hit. This was full of trust words. You had to say: “Ready to trust" (the people in line would reply) "Ready to be trusted", (you'd say) "Trusting", (they would reply) "Trust us (or me)”. Now when I ran through I was scared to death; it was an adrenalin rush. This is how most of the games ran throughout the day. One of the games that really stuck out to me was when we had to lift and turn a person 360 degrees. The first person we lifted was Jill so she got into a small little ball (fetus position) and we lifted her 360 degrees. We started out doing a 180 degree turn to make sure everything turned out right. Doing this was a complicated process because we had to plan everything out. If we didn’t, something could have gone horribly wrong and we could have dropped and hurt Jill. After Jill did her turn I went up for the turn and boy, am I going to say that it was awesome.
The point of all these games, as I said, was to build trust because in our meetings we may encounter difficulties as we go along the way to plan events for the school and music department. The day ended with most of us standing outside watching the peculiar rain coming down on us.
