As you all know, option selection day is on February 22nd. As this day approaches, it is important to include a music course in your timetable! Music teaches you more than just how to play an instrument, it teaches you concentration, perseverance, and teamwork. By taking music through high school, many doors are opened to a variety of rewarding careers. By playing with an ensemble you learn to work within a team. There are also numerous opportunities for leadership both within your ensemble and in the Woburn Music Council.

INFO CHOOSE MUSIC

Even those not planning on going into music for their postsecondary studies benefit from the fact that universities look for extracurricular activities such as music when choosing prospective students. Woburn houses one of the best music programs in the GTA so this is definitely the place to grow as a musician and improve your musical talent. If playing a wind instrument is not your forte, there are also vocal classes and guitar classes to strengthen your music talent.

The benefits of taking music are truly endless. Like any skill, learning music is something that must be constantly worked at. What makes music worth taking is the fact that long after your high school days are over, you will continue to feel the benefits of taking music. Thus, on February 22nd, make sure to bubble in your favourite music program!
