April 6, 2008 03:53 PM

The Ontario Vocal Festival has invited the world renowned choir Rajaton to our very own school on Tuesday, April 8th to host an amazing day of singing, and a fabulous evening concert.

Rajaton, meaning “boundless” is an a cappella choir from Finland made up of 6 talented people, Essi Wuorela, Virpi Moskari, Soila Sariola, Jussi Chydenius, Hannu Lepola, and Ahti Paunu. The group was founded in 1997 by tenor Jussi Chydenius, and the choir’s repertoire consists of all sorts of music, from classical to recent popular tunes.

On April 8th, six students from approximately 60 schools will be coming to Woburn for the day to prepare for the concert featuring Rajaton. The students will rehearse alone for the morning, and Rajaton will be rehearsing with them in the afternoon.

This will be an amazing experience for all of the students involved, but especially for the six students from Woburn. Jessie Min, Rebecca Curtis, Nicole Mendoza, Jill Brooks, Anthony Varahidis, and Andrew Beaudoin will be performing in this exciting choir.

The concert will be on Tuesday, April 8 at 7:30pm in the Woburn auditorium. Tickets are $20 if bought through a student involved with the choir, and $30 at the door. So act fast and get your ticket!
