On Wednesday May 14, 2008, Churchill Heights Public School had their annual Spring Music Concert in our Woburn auditorium at 7 p.m. This concert was made up of mostly grade 7 and 8 students. It was performed in a way that is very much like our own concerts. I myself volunteered to help out with this concert because I was curious at the quality of music that would be presented at this concert and let me tell you that I was not disappointed, in fact I was quite surprised. There were a lot of times in the concert that I felt a bit guilty for watching the performance more than doing my job, but I got a lot out of the concert. All of the bands and choirs in this concert performed some noticeable pieces that I loved and enjoyed. Some were theme songs such as “Highlights from the Star Wars Saga” which the grade seven band performed, and “Pirates of the Caribbean” which the Senior Band performed. There was one piece that had stood out to me and that was “The Moment” performed by Bruce Jia on soprano sax and Elaine Vuong on the piano. It was just a beautifully performed piece that I would love to hear again. Overall, I’d have to say that the Churchill teachers have shaped such talented students and they will be a great attribute to Woburn’s future population.
