Music for the World is a non-profit organization started by one of our own, Emily Chow. She is currently in grade twelve at Woburn Collegiate Institute. Music for the World holds charity concerts for people “of the world” to enjoy.
Each concert they support a different charity. In August, they supported the Covenant House for Youth Shelter, which provides shelter for homeless teens. This Friday November 14 they are having a concert, and they are supporting Habitat for Humanity, which now spans over 90 countries and is responsible for placing over 225,000 families into new homes around the world!
Come one come all and get pleasure from the great local rock bands performing! There are six rock bands performing this Friday, November the 14th. They are Red Handed Denial, Shades of November, Symbionic Necrodias, Punk in Drublik, Saydie Michelle, and Sixteen Gauge. This is a great opportunity for the bands because they get to play songs for the public at an actual venue… and who knows? You may come to the concert and really like the bands! You may even want their songs to be on your iPod!
If you are interested, fascinated, and attracted to hear these bands play, the concert is going to be at the Kathedral which is 651 Queen Street West and Bathurst. To get in, you must have a ticket. Tickets cost twelve dollars at the door of the Kathedral. Do not worry about not being able to get a ticket, there will be enough for everyone! Once you have your ticket the doors will open at 6:30pm, and the first band starts to play at 7pm. Hope you come and enjoy the show! It will an experience you will never forget.
