The Saucedo Experience
November 21, 2009 11:32 AM
This past week the Woburn Wind Ensemble has taken part in an amazing experience performing in a concert for Participation House charity with four other exceptional bands. One of the exciting points in the event was that all ensembles received the chance to be conducted by the famous conductor Richard Saucedo. After many weeks of practices, the Wind Ensemble met with Mr. Saucedo who composed the pieces performed and was conducted by him. It was a great learning experience to further the playing of the pieces, and also basic tips to play any music beautifully. The two hour afternoon rehearsal flew by after learning the parts of playing Snow Caps and To This Heartbeat There Is No End exactly the way it was written.
Finally, the night of the concert arrived. The seats were filled and the guests were introduced, and then the playing began. The musical talent was strong from the five bands, and the audience was impressed. The array of songs was a good choice, from hearing familiar classics to new favorites. The performances left an impression on everyone and they gave all of the conductors standing ovations. It raises the bar for the Woburn Wind Ensemble and will be a night for everyone to remember.
